Using WinSynchro as backup manager.

Using WinSynchro as a backup manager is recommended.

Backups made with WinSynchro are very fast since only files that have changed since the last backup are copied. Only the first backup will take longer since it will be necessary to copy all the files.

Backups can be manual or automatic.

Thanks to the use of the synchronization center, you will be able to configure your manual backups that you will launch at the time that suits you.

Thanks to the use of the planning center, you will be able to configure your automatic backups. Backups can be scheduled at fixed times or periodically. You can schedule different backups for each day of the week which will allow you to recover from an error for 7 days.

The main difference between a sync and a backup is that a sync is usually two-way while a backup is always one-way.

In principle, you never delete a file from a backup. A backup therefore increases in size over time. Periodically, the backup is purged. To purge a backup, we simply rename the backup folder and restart the backup. A new backup is created. In principle, only the last purge is kept and the penultimate one is deleted.

Example of scheduling a differentiated backup for each day of the week at 6 p.m.:

The Monday evening backup:
