WinSesame 12

Protect files or folders by strong encryption on any media.

Sending encrypted files that can be used without the software.

Concealment of encrypted data.

Signature and certification of all types of files.

Limits of use:

WinSesame can lock folders whose volume depends on both the size of the largest files, the number of files in the folder and the amount of contiguous memory that Windows can allocate to the program at this time without exceeding 2 GB. WinSesame can lock and encrypt folders containing up to 5000 files.

In practice, these limits should not prevent protecting all of the documents on a computer since for reasons of compatibility with the different file systems (e.g. FAT32), none of the software commonly used creates files larger than 2 GB. If it is necessary to lock folders containing more than 2 GB of data, they are therefore necessarily contained in several files of compatible size that can be locked independently or divided into sub-folders that can be locked without problem. This has the added benefit of faster access to protected data and increased security by avoiding unnecessary unlocking of an entire large file.

So when a folder contains a large number of files, you will directly lock the folder, and when a folder contains large files, you will lock the files independently.
