StarNavPilot marine multifunction  display:

Take advantage of a multifunction  display at the size of a computer screen.

StarNavPilot is no longer just a navigation software, but a
full-sized multifunction  display at the size of your screen.

With version 9.1 we introduce the multifunction  display mode. StarNavPilot is no longer just a navigation software, but a full-sized multifunction  display at the size of your screen allowing optimal use of the screen surface and the display of all instruments in small aesthetic independent windows contrasted for a good visibility of the repeaters. Your screen is configurable and composition templates are available. Once your screen is composed the configuration is locked and at each launch you find the same screen. Classic window mode remains available.

Note concerning screen reproductions displayed: The screens displayed are screen shots made in simulation mode and not in real navigation conditions. Some inconsistencies between the data displayed by the instruments are therefore possible. These captures are provided as an example to show the displays that can be achieved with the StarNavPilot multifunction  displayl. Be interested in the appearance of the instruments and not the data displayed.

All navigation instruments of the boat can be displayed on the screen. 9 instruments are currently available.

- GPS Repeater

- GPS compass with steering display

- Active route with XTE indication

- AIS Radar

- Log / speedometer with mileage and trip odometer, average speed and top speed.

- Anemometer

- Wind vane

- Magnetic compass

- Depth meter

At the first launch, you can choose between the classic mode or the multifunction  display mode:

To start in central navigation mode click on the corresponding image and click continue.

To start in central navigation mode click on the corresponding image and click continue. A default template will be created based on the characteristics of your screen so as to display the main instruments and optimize the surface of your screen. The 4 instruments chosen for this configuration use only data available from your GPS. To use this configuration you do not need to connect to your computer other devices than your GPS.

To change the screen configuration, go to the left menu with the icon Open the instruments taband open the instruments tab:

En haut de cet onglet vous pouvez activer ou non l'amortissement des aiguilles et des roses utilisé par les instruments

At the top of this tab you can activate or deactivate the smoothing of moving used by the instruments. If your computer is not very powerful and you notice that the display is not smooth enough uncheck this box. The smoothing of moving can also affect the power consumption of the device.

Then comes the choice of automatic configurations:

Just click on an template so that the screen reorganizes immediately.

5 models are available:

Full screen without instrument:

Only the chart window is displayed without an instrument using the entire available area of the screen.

Essential instruments:

This mode is the default template. It displays 4 instruments whose data come from the GPS:

GPS Repeater.

Active route with XTE indication.

LGPS compass with steering display.

Log / speedometer.

To use this configuration you do not need to connect to your computer other devices than your GPS.

Anemometer

Wind vane

Depth meter

Magnetic compass

The corresponding instrument data must be available on your NMEA network (NMEA0183 multiplexer, NMEA2000 network with 2000-0183 converter)

Optimal mode without AIS radar:

This screen displays 8 instruments and does not display the AIS radar:

Below is the manual configuration of all instruments:

To manually set up your screen you first need to unlock by clicking on the Unlock link. All instruments then display their sizing and displacement handles and the chart takes a resizable edge and a moving bar.

You can now move and resize each ofinstruments according to your wishes

You can now move and resize each of instruments according to your wishes. Below is a frame by instrument. In each of these frames you can activate or disable the instrument and change his position data. Use these settings to precisely align certain instruments and standardize their dimensions.

Exemple:

In this example we have placed the GPS in the left cornerof the screen.

In this example we have placed the GPS in the left corner of the screen (X = 0, Y = 0) and its size is 225 pixels.

When you have correctly selected, sized and positioned each of the instruments and the chart you can lock your screen again.

Instruments :

The GPS Repeater:

The GPS Repeater

Displays your position, your speed on the ground, your course on the ground in True or Magnetic cap according to the configuration of the software, UTC time and the geodetic system used.

GPS compass with steering display:

GPS compass with steering display

Indicates your course heading in True or Magnetic heading according to the software configuration and the magnetic declination. It also has a indication to help you to steer the boat.

The active route:

the active route

This instrument displays all the information needed to follow a route using a graph. In addition to the graph the deviation of the road, the beering of the waypoint and the distance to the waypoint is displayed. To precisely follow a route it is interesting to highlight this instrument.

Log / speedometer:

Le loch/speedo

Indicates ground speed, average speed, top speed, total log, daily log. To set the trip odometer to 0, click on the field and choose Reset Log from the menu.

The AIS radar:

The AIS radar

This instrument is a repeater of the main AIS radar of StarNavPilot. It allows to have the AIS radar permanently displayed. The computer must be connected to an AIS receiver. To change the radar range use the + and - buttons. Targets are displayed with their true heading orientation. For more information on a target refer to the AIS radar in the main window. The range of the AIS radar repeater is independent of that selected in the main radar.

Anemometer and Wind vane:

Anemometer and Wind vane

These two instruments indicate the direction and speed of the wind. These instruments indicate the real wind or surface wind depending on the device configuration. To use these instruments, a wind vane must be connected to your computer and communicate in NMEA using the WIMWV sentence.

The depth meter:

The depth meter

This instrument displays the depth and the curve of the bottom. A depth meter device must be connected and use the NMEA SDDPT sentence.

Note: The multifunction  display mode is compatible with the independent chart windows and the memorization of their positions. However in order to avoid excessive clutter of the screen, the display of all the instruments plus the active chart plus a secondary chart plus an aerial view will be possible only on a very large screen with the corresponding definition or in multi-screen display on several screens. In this case you display the main charts and the instruments on screen 1 and the secondary charts in as many windows as you need on screen 2.
