
Everything that is created,
modified, adjusted in the software can be exported and then re-imported. Apart
from being able to recover an element deleted or modified by mistake, this
function allows you to create profiles for different uses of the
software.
For example, you do not need the same software settings
depending on the use: navigation, preparation for navigation, work on
cartography, etc.
While sailing you may not need the same cartography,
routes, annotations, course marks etc. for a regatta of a few hours than for a
cruise on the high seas.
You have created a whole precise cartography
of which you have refined the georeferencing by correction points on positions
recorded on GoogleMap then recorded in course marks. You can't keep all of these
marks on the screen while sailing but be reluctant to remove them because they
could be used again. Export them to a data file then delete them from the
software. If necessary, all you have to do is re-import them.
Data that
can be exported and then re-imported into the software:
- All software
parameters and settings including execution mode and screen composition.

Instruments: create screen composition models in central navigation mode.

Cartography: create libraries of charts.
- Annotations: everything you have
noted or drawn on the maps.
- Routes: create collections of routes to
reimport according to your needs for the navigation area.
- Marks: create
marks collections with all their characteristics: alarm zone, icon etc ...

Danger areas with all their characteristics.
- The tracks that you have
memorized and which can be transformed into routes.
Quietly prepare
your navigations, your cartography, your routes, your course marks, your safety
areas, your notes etc ... and even all the configuration of the program on a
computer at your home. Use the simulator and its autopilot to test your routes.
Then export the data to a mobile device and import everything to the navigation
computer on board the boat. All you have to do is cast off.
You change
computer: no problem you lose nothing and you find your StarNavPilot as it was
without any adjustment or
configuration.
