Can StarNavPilot use BSB raster charts?

StarNavPilot is compatible with BSB 1,2 and 3 format maps.

The files of a BSB charts are:

BSB1: 1 CHARTHDR file + 1 file per chart

BSB 2, 3: .kap file + .bsb file (not useful for StarNavPilot)

BSB nautical charts are raster or raster charts containing the bitmap of a nautical chart plus geo-referencing information allowing the program to know the geographical position of each point on the chart. Old raster maps were originally paper chart scans. This type of chart is the most comfortable to use. All the details that can be found on a paper map are present on a raster chart. It is also the safest format because no information or any symbol can disappear from a raster chart due to a decoding problem, format incompatibility or other unlike the vector format where the chart is drawn by the program from data decoded into a file.

Raster charts are now provided by the SHOM in the format GeoTIFF.
